About Us

At the AWAC, Women with Disabilities are not just participants but key agents of change, shaping climate solutions that are inclusive, impactful, and forward-thinking. The alliance is committed to amplifying their voices and ensuring that their needs, experiences, and perspectives are at the core of climate policies and practices.

Women with Disabilities face disproportionate climate risks, from inaccessible evacuation routes during disasters to systemic exclusion from decision-making. Addressing these barriers requires disability-inclusive climate solutions. AWAC bridges this gap by creating a collaborative space for WWDs with governments, NGOs, the private sector, and grassroots communities to develop interventions that tackle inequality, enhance resilience, and promote lasting climate justice.
